Who operates this site
yourfirstthousand.com is operated by the author of The First Thousand, a sole operator publishing under the pen name Jordan Reynolds (the pen name is disclosed in the book and on this site). Contact for anything in this policy: start@yourfirstthousand.com.
What we collect, and why
When you buy the book: your email address and order details, so we can deliver the file and your receipt. Payment is processed entirely by Stripe — your card number never touches this site and we never see or store it. Stripe’s handling of your data is described in Stripe’s privacy policy.
When you request the free sample chapter: your email address, used to send the chapter and occasional notes about the book (such as when a revision ships). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is honored immediately. The mailing list runs on Hostinger’s email service (Hostinger Reach).
When you browse: standard analytics via Google Analytics 4 — pages visited, approximate location, device type. We use this to understand what’s working, not to identify you. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) also keeps routine server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and operations.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell or rent your data. We don’t share it with anyone except the processors that make the store work: Stripe (payments), Hostinger (hosting and email), and Google (analytics). We don’t run third-party ads on this site.
Cookies
The site sets the cookies needed for checkout to function (Easy Digital Downloads session cookies) and analytics cookies from Google Analytics. You can block cookies in your browser; checkout may not work without the functional ones.
Retention
Order records are kept as long as needed for accounting and tax obligations. Mailing-list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained on Google’s standard schedule for GA4.
Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask for deletion (subject to records we’re legally required to keep) by emailing start@yourfirstthousand.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK, or California), these rights may be backed by specific laws; we honor such requests regardless of where you’re writing from.
Children
This site sells a business book and is not directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date.
This page is provided as general information about how this store operates, not as legal advice. For situations beyond a standard small digital storefront, consult a qualified professional — the book’s Appendix A makes the same recommendation.
